EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH DREW SIDORA!
Drew Sidora aka “Chi-Town Princess” was born May 1, 1985 in Chicago, Ill. This Multi-talented star singer, songwriter, actress, and dancer is doing it big. She has appeared in films such as “Never die alone,” “Step it up,” “Motives 2,” and “White Chicks”. She has also appeared in the hit television show “The Game” as well as in Sean Paul’s music video “Give it up to me” ft. Keyshia Cole.
1. Drew briefly tell us how you got started in Hollywood? "I am from Chicago and I always dreamed of being an entertainer after having early roles in Divas (Khalil Kain and Nicole Ari Parker) which occasionally is shown on TV One. From there, I did That’s So Raven and Never Die Alone and the rest has been my journey. It has been a beautiful struggle because I have experienced so much to make me the artist/entertainer I am today."
2. What inspired your new Single “Juke It”? "I wanted to give my fans musically a piece of me with this project and ‘Juke It ‘ is me being repping my city Chicago. The term Juke is a dance form and movement that encompasses a lot of different styles of free styling dancing specifically the footwork. So basically I am paying homage to Chicago while introducing the world to something unique and different. The single reflects the infectious attitude this brings to the club and dance floors."
3. How is “Juke It” different from your previous hits “For the Love” and “Slow it Down”? "Well Juke It is a club banger and it free-spirited while For The Love my duets with Mario is more a ballad. Slow it Down is a mid-tempo track I was able to showcase in the movie Step Up"
4. Will there be a video for “Juke It,” if so what can we expect to see? "That is the plan but no definite dates as of yet. It will definitely be shot in Chicago to give an authentic feel for the world to see."
5. What other upcoming projects do you have in store? "I have a new movie I co executive produced with Dietrick Haddon called Blessed and Cursed it will be packaged with Dietrick Haddon'’ upcoming CD and it will be released on July 27th. Plus I am excited about my new sitcom which will be on the Fall TV schedule. It called One Love and it stars Mark Curry (Hangin' With Mr. Cooper), Sheryl Lee Ralph (Moesha/Dreamgirls),Carl Payne (Martin) Sherman Hemsley (Jeffersons) and others. It is about a 1st church family who are religious on Sunday and dysfunctional Monday through Saturday. One Love was created by TD Jakes, Carla Waddles and Winifred Hervey (Cosby Show/Fresh Prince of Bel Air). It has all of the elements of bringing back the Black family while teaching values and delivering positive real messages to the viewers like shows did back in the day.. Of course it speculation about me coming back to The Game on BET and if the writers can fit back into the storyline when it resumes taping later this summer, I will be back to give closure to the Me and Derwin storyline. But my main focus is my music as Juke It and now Turn It Up is building momentum on radio so I am excited to doing shows and videos to promote the project to my fans who have supported me over the years."
